WSTK1000: What a comeback!
Fantastic weekend for both Berclaz Racing riders in the third round of the season in the Italian Circuit of Imola. After three positive free practice sessions, on saturday, just a few minutes before the QP, it started raining and the track condition changed. Luca Salvadori, thanks to his feeling on the wet, was able to get the 3rd positions, his first row ever of his stk1000 career. His teammate Roberto Tamburini had some difficulties and finished in the fifth row, in p13.
On sunday with sun, hot temperature and a dry circuit Tamburini was protagonist of an amazing comeback. While in the first laps he had some problem to pass some rivals with “free track”, Tamburini recovered a gap of more than fives seconds, finishing the race in second position, two tenth off the winner.
His teammate Salvadori suffered on the dry and finished 12th.
Now the championship standing sees Tamburini in 2nd position (-1 point from the leader) and Salvadori in 9th position.
The next race will be on the British circuit of Donington on the 27th May.
Special thanks to teams and riders for the technical contribution in developing our products and the results they get on the track.
