Hard weekend for the championship leader Joan Mir that after a qualifying session that saw him taking the 14th position, in race the Leopard Team rider had to stat in 20th place for the penalization that he had got in the last GP of Aragon. For the whole race Mir tried to come back because of for the low visibility due to the rain and a not perfect feeling with his bike, finished 17th.

MotoGP: No points for both Pull&Bear Aspar riders. The two teammates leave the Japanese GP with no points due to a double crash. Alvaro Bautista couldn’t effectively react to the news that Race Direction had taken before the warm up of the morning (the soft front tyre couldn’t be use of for the race). Bautista started 16th on the grid, as he said himself, he didn’t feel confident on the bike right from the start and finished off the track with only three laps to go. His teammate Karel Abraham after a good start from the seventh row tried to recover a few positions but unluckily he lost the rear tyre in a little highside and crashed.
